Brewery Love Wisconsin Engagement

We LOVE this engagement session from Alison Kundratic Photography! It’s filled with loads of gorgeous moments just like the couples’ amazing love story below. Love!

Lisa and Dave are getting married this September, and when we discussed their engagement session ideas at our first meeting together, I was so excited when I found out about their love of beer! Dave is a home-brewer, and these two wanted to start their engagement session at their favorite brew pub, Titletown Brewing Co. in Green Bay, WI. It was so much fun wandering around the building (which used to be a train station many years ago), and the staff even allowed us to venture into the beer cellar for some photographs between the beer tanks! After Titletown, we headed over to Lambeau Field for a few photographs, since this will be the location of their wedding reception.

Lisa is a physical therapist. Dave is an athletic trainer. Both in sports medicine, professions that work closely together.
Lisa first noticed Dave during the first few weeks she was working for Bellin when Dave would walk through the clinic. Dave and Lisa formally met for the first time a year later in June of 2011 in the Lambeau Field parking lot where they were both with co-workers tailgating for the Kenny Chesney concert. It was six months later in December of 2011 when Lisa invited Dave to the Christmas Day Packers vs Bears game at Lambeau Field after a few weeks of exchanging text messages. Dave turned Lisa down but did meet Lisa at a tailgate where mutual friends were again together. It was that night that Lisa met Dave’s sister, Laura, who later told Dave’s mother that she had met “Dave’s future wife” that night after she listened to Lisa hassling Dave for turning down a free Christmas night Packer game.

Told in Lisa’s perspective: Dave had three goals for his proposal: 1) do it in private (Dave hates being the center of attention); 2) make it completely unexpected; and 3) have meaning behind the proposal. Dave proposed to me on a completely unexpected Wednesday night in January. We had made plans to take down the Christmas tree we put up together at Dave’s house that night. Dave played it off that he was too tired to take down the tree but I convinced him that we needed to do it. Before we started taking down the tree Dave surprised me by playing a Ray Lamontagne acoustic version of a song he found that I had been looking for on the internet since we saw him in concert in December of 2012 (this will be our wedding song). I still remained clueless at this point. While the song continued to play, Dave showed me a picture of the Christmas tree he took and wanted me to take a look at it. I realized after a few seconds that there was something different behind his grandfather’s ornament and before I could figure out what it was I looked up and saw Dave untying the ring box from the tree, he knelt down on one knee and despite not remembering what he said, I figured out to answer the question and said yes! In sweatpants, no one else around, relaxed, a total surprise, completely us.
