Charming Maryland Plantation Engagement
There’s a soft sweetness about this lovely engagement session from dKin Photography that we’re just swooning over! Take a gander at the charmingly captured moments below and fall in love.
I’ve known Caitlan for quite some time. I met her when she was still in high school talking about going to college, and now she’s graduating college. We were both dockhands at a local marina. We’re both from really small towns that aren’t too close to “civilization”. Nonetheless, time flies by.
It really brightened my day when she asked me to photograph her engagement and wedding. The engagement session took place on a historic plantation in Cecil County, Maryland. It’s 200 acres of open space with rolling hills, sycamores, and deer. Plenty of deer.
After creeping down the plantation’s 2 mile long driveway (by the way, it’s gorgeous!!!) I finally arrived to the 18th century manor house. I couldn’t help but to notice the detached kitchen house and breathtaking boxwood garden. Once a tobacco plantation, it is nestled closely to the water. It harbors beautiful views of Back Creek and McGill Creek. How lucky am I to be shooting their wedding here?!
Once Caitlan and Daniel arrived, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, where I wanted to do it. We were quick and efficient. They were such great sports, and I was so happy to finally meet up with Caitlan after so many years apart.
