From the Beautiful Bride:

Ian’s family came all the way from China to attend our wedding. He hadn’t seen them since he was 12 years old. It was really fun having them there even if they didn’t speak a word of English! They were really excited to see that we included double happiness boxes on the tables (a traditional Chinese wedding tradition). We planned our wedding during what turned out to be the coldest week in January due to the pesky Polar Vortex. We left in the early hours of the deep freeze and missed the whole thing!

DIY details:
– My sister made the wedding programs using paper and scrapbook supplies and the wedding invitations were ordered from Etsy.com.
– We went to so many stores to find all the items to include in the welcome bags that we delivered to each room. We included snacks, candy, chapstick, shout wipes, and emergen-C, along with a cute paper piece describing our relationship and our funny quirks- handmade by my sister.
– I spent a lot of time on pinterest finding fabulous ideas!

The day after our wedding we went out for more photos in some really cool locations in the resort and along the beach. We laid out in the ocean but the surf was too strong to stay long and one wave brought in so much sand we were covered in it. My favorite photos shoot has to be the one in the pool! Sarah put on snorkel gear and a bag of rocks to hold her down in the pool, and we certainly had a crowd around us watching the bride and groom take photos underwater!
