Rockefeller Center New York Proposal
We LOVE proposal stories and we love it even more when there’s a photographer there to capture the moment! This real proposal from Pennace Photography is just amazing and we seriously love the proposal story from the bride below.
Joe and I have never been to New York at Christmas and were both excited to plan a trip there this December. We prepared by watching Home Alone 2 and making an excel spreadsheet of all the tourist activities we wanted to do – FAO Schwartz, Times Square, Broadway Show, and ice skating at Rockefeller Center. We took the train up from Baltimore and had an amazing time, but we were both looking forward to ice skating for the last part of our trip. It was freezing outside, but as soon as we were on the ice we felt warm with the energy of the big Christmas tree and the other skaters. I could not stop smiling – it was our first Christmas together and I couldn’t believe I had found someone as perfect for me as Joe. As the ice cleared for the zamboni, Joe asked if I wanted to take one more lap around the rink. Being the rule follower that I am, I insisted that we move off the ice. However, Joe insisted, and when one of our favorite songs began playing and we were alone on the ice, I realized that this was a very special moment. However, at the time I thought that Joe had simply rented out the ice just for us – and it took him getting down on one knee and our photographer coming out for me to realize that he was asking me to marry him. After I said yes, we got to walk around the city and take pictures with our photographer. She did a great job of photographing our excitement and happiness, coupled with the holiday spirit of New York City. I feel so lucky to have those moments captured forever. It was the best day of our lives and we will remember it forever.
