Wisconsin Botanical Garden Engagement

This heavenly engagement session from Alison Kundratic Photography is positively lovely but don’t take our word for it – go check it out! Love!

Lindsey and Jason are getting married this September, and for their engagement session in September 2013, we headed to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The gardens were still gorgeous with green leaves and beautiful flowers, which just enhanced the backdrop for their images. Their engagement story is in the “album info” section, and Jason actually told his dad that he knew he was going to marry Lindsey after the third date!

From The Groom:

So, knowing how much of a Disney fan Lindsey is, I knew I had to somehow incorporate that when I proposed to her. In June 2012 I went on a trip with Lindsey’s family to Disney World. My first thought was to propose there, but I just didn’t want to be like so many other couples and get engaged there (plus we were with her parents and sister so, it just wasn’t the right time to me.) We spent a week there and went on a lot of different rides. One ride stood out to me and gave me an idea of how I could propose. The ride is called ” The Carousel of Progress” and it’s one of the oldest rides at Disney and has been re-done a bunch of times. Basically it starts with a family in the past and you follow them from station to station as they develop through the innovations of each time period. In January 2013, Lindsey visited me for a week in Scottsdale, AZ (where I work in the winter). I went to pick her up from the airport and, with a little help from my roommate, had my whole apartment set and ready for her when we returned. When we walked up to the apartment, there was a sign on the door saying “The Carousel of Progress of Lindsey and Jason.” When she opened the door I had the actual song from the Carousel of Progress playing on loop in the background. Each section of the apartment was blocked off with blankets so you could only see one area at a time. Station #1 was in the living room and was labeled PAST. On the coffee table there was candles and pictures of us as babies, as well as interesting facts from 1982 and 1989 (the years we were each born). Then with rose pedals leading to the next station, which was ‘Station #2: Progress’. I had things from where we first met (a Dicks Sporting Goods name tag, etc.). After that we went to ‘Station #3: Progress’ in the kitchen where there were more candles and pictures from our first date along with a menu I had printed off from the restaurant we ate at and a ticket from the T-Rats baseball game we went to. In the hallway was ‘Station #4: Present’, where I had printed off tons of pictures of different places we’d been all through the years we dated. The last station was at the door to my bedroom, which was closed and had a sign saying “Future?”. When she opened the door, I had the Dave Matthews’s song “You and Me” (our favorite song) playing and rose petals and candles spread throughout the room with a little table in the middle of the room that had the wedding ring on it. Obviously she said “Yes” (or you wouldn’t be reading this right now), but for the rest of our week we celebrated by going to Disney Land in Anaheim, California (it was a fitting way to finish off the week!).
